DEPUTIES RECOGNIZED FOR LIFESAVING INCIDENTS

 
On January 1st, 2015 Deputies were dispatched to the Northwestern section of Monroe County for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Deputy Parr, Deputy Miller and Deputy Williamson began investigating the disturbance and discovered a man in the basement of the residence that had hung himself. Their quick action to remove the man from the situation and immediately administering CPR allowed deputies to revive the man.

At the March Merit Board Meeting, Deputy Williamson was awarded the Lifesaving Award per the above incident. He was unable to attend the February meeting due to training.
 

Sergeant Mullis was also awarded the Lifesaving Award. Sgt. Mullis was on patrol on the eastern section of Monroe County where he detected an odor consistent with a structure fire. Upon further investigation he discovered an attached garage on fire. Sgt. Mullis was unable to get anyone to answer the door at the residence and forced entry. He discovered two elderly adults asleep inside the residence and was able to remove them from the residence that filling with smoke. His quick actions saved the lives of this elderly couple.
