Monroe County Traffic Division Goes Paperless Media Release from Monroe County Contacts: Linda Robbins (812) 349-2614January 10, 2012 Bloomington, IN-The Monroe County Clerk’s office is pleased to announce that we have successfully implemented a paperless initiative for our traffic violations department. Our efforts will make the traffic process easier while saving thousands of dollars over the next three years. This saves money, labor, and resources for the Clerk as well as law enforcement, Clerk Linda Robbins announced today. Effective January 1, 2012, this change simplifies the interoffice process and makes it easier for law enforcement, who no longer has to make copies of traffic tickets for the Clerk’s office. In the event the officers are unable to complete and submit tickets electronically, they will continue to turn in tickets to the Clerk for processing. Brenda Russ, with the Monroe County Sheriff’s office stated “This is awesome!!” when informed that her office no longer had to make copies of tickets, unless an officer writes a ticket by hand. This also enables the Monroe County Clerk’s office to free up resources in some parts of the organization and put them to better use elsewhere while still maintaining a high degree of service to our public. In constantly trying to find ways to do business better and with less cost, the Monroe County Clerk is fulfilling the responsibility of properly managing taxpayers’ dollars. |
