The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to the protection and service of the Monroe County communities. This Online Incident Report allows for the quick and accurate reporting of certain incidents and crimes.

The purpose of this form is to provide you with the convenience of submitting a report via the internet instead of having to take the time to travel to our Office or calling Central Dispatch to report the incident. If your incident requires the assistance of an officer, you will be contacted by an officer to discuss the matter further.

To report an EMERGENCY or crime that is in progress, call 9-1-1 immediately.

To submit this form, each of the following statements must be true:

• I am at least 18 years old.

• The incident/crime occurred within Monroe County, Indiana, but NOT within the city limits of Bloomington, Ellettsville, Stinesville, or on the Indiana University campus.

• There are NO KNOWN suspects, witnesses, suspect vehicles, or evidence that could lead to the identification of a suspect.

• The incident does NOT involve violence.

• NO party involved in the incident was injured.

• I am NOT submitting a false report, which is illegal and punishable by law.

To report one of the following crimes, the respective stipulations MUST apply:

• Thefts

  • The property involved is worth less than $750.00 in value.

  • Illegal entry into a building or dwelling was NOT made during the act.

  • Theft of a vehicle is NOT involved.

  • Theft of a firearm is NOT involved.

  • Theft of a license plate is NOT involved.

• Vandalism

  • There was less than $750.00 in damage.

  • Illegal entry into a building or dwelling was NOT made during the act.

  • The act does NOT involve graffiti.

  • The act does NOT involve hate crimes.

• Lost Property

  • A lost vehicle is NOT invovled.

  • A lost firearm is NOT involved.

  • A lost license plate is NOT involved.

  • A lost pet or animal is NOT involved.
